For almost a decade, Steve Carrell & co. entertained the world with their world-class sitcom ‘The Office’. The remake of the Ricky Gervais-starred UK series, the Golden Globes, and Emmy-winning show had Steve Carrell as a quirky boss, Michael Scott, at the Scranton branch of the paper company ‘Dunder Mifflin’. The show, in a documentary way, told us the everyday stories of chaos, joy, and love among the employees.
In 2013, ‘The Office’ came to an end with the marriage of Dwight Schrute and Angela. The show has been remade into different languages, most recently Arabic. Recently, there has been a conversation about a reboot of the US version of the series. The creator, Greg Daniels, was reportedly working on a script with writers for a fresh take on the show. Now, the ‘Breaking Bad’ star, Bryan Cranston, has expressed interest in adapting the show for celluloid.

Bryan Cranston Is Ready To Be An Extra In ‘The Office’ Film
Recently, the ‘Breaking Bad’ star appeared on the ‘Office Ladies’ podcast by Jenna Fischer, who played Pam, and Angela Kinsey, who played Angela. During the podcast, Bryan expressed an interest in exploring ‘The Office’ in the celluloid space. He said, “Let’s say that there’s not a reboot series, but what if there was a movie?”
Expanding on this idea further, Bryan Cranston said, “Something to where we can see where these people are. These people in the entire cast that we’re curious about. We wondered at the end, where did they go? What did become of them?”
Jenna Fischer said that she is interested in the project only if Greg Daniels is working on it “because then I would trust it. You know? As long as Greg is writing it and he’s in charge of it, then I say yes.” Jenna continued, “I would do it for my kids because I think they would think that’s fun.”
Bryan added as to what role he would love to play in the screen adaptation of ‘The Office’. He continued, “I just want to be an extra in it. I would be some guy. I’d be a crossing guard or something like that. Just something.”

Greg Daniels Opens Up About The Reboot Of The Show
During an interview with The Wrap, Greg Daniels talked about how he does not want to explore ‘The Office’ reboot idea in the traditional way. Greg wants to work on a new subject within the same sphere, and he also wants to keep the original cast intact but not the main focus.
Greg Daniels said, “I feel like we ended that story beautifully. The characters had closure. I would never want to redo that same show with a different cast, because I think we got the luckiest cast, the best cast ever, in TV, to do that show. So the notion of a reboot is not of interest.”
Greg added, “The notion of maybe something like the way ‘The Mandalorian’ is a new show in the Star Wars universe, you know what I mean? Something like the notion of this documentary crew doing a documentary about a different subject.”
As per a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Greg is “assembling a writers room in his continued efforts to revive the former NBC comedy with a new take.”
