‘Demon Slayer’ has become one of the most mind-boggling anime within in short time of release. The world of demons and humans continues to collide, creating problems within peaceful societies. A group of skillful individuals with unique powers takes upon the responsibility to hunt these demons in order to maintain balance in society.
Though the concept of humans and demons coexisting is still yet to be acceptable, our protagonists Nezuko and Tanjiro Kamado take on being the example of the very idea. Things start to rile up when the readers find out that the antagonist of the story is a family man. The viewers were puzzled by this sudden declaration which made them question various things in the plot line.

Muzan Kibutsuji’s Family In ‘Demon Slayer’
Muzan Kibutsuji is the main antagonist of the story. As merciless as he is, Muzan is shown to have a wife and a daughter in the series. His wife and daughter though seemed very human-like, were brought to question their actual identity. Unfortunately for the viewers, Muzan doesn’t have a soft side at all.
When Tanjiro crosses him in the busy market, Muzan recognizes his Hanafuda earrings and immediately summons one of his followers to eradicate him. Though he does show interest in his sister, he has by no means any thoughts of sparring Tanjiro’s life. Moreover, he casually sacrifices an innocent bystander, turning him into a demon, just to cause chaos and avoid Tanjiro.

He with his wife and daughter quickly escapes from the scene. Other than him, his family is human. Neither his wife nor his daughter is a demon. There’s an argument that his wife’s husband died/got killed by Muzan. He then took his place. But why? To survive in a society full of humans and to avoid suspicion, he acts like a loving husband and father.
Muzan has no real attachment to his family. He just uses them as camouflage to cover his traces. His daughter Haruka, is shown to have a deep affection for what she portrays as her father. Muzan, who has a weakness in the sunlight, secretly continues his experiments to better his body, while acting sick in front of his family.

How Many Wife Does Muzan Have?
As the first-ever demon who lived for 1,000 years, Muzan Kibutsuji had five wives. As one can expect, none of them lived a peaceful life in the end and mostly died by committing suicide. In each era, he needed a family to use as a shield, to stay low-key from the demon slayer organization.
His original family had a curse of living only up to twenty years. Muzan tried to break free from the curse with the help of a doctor. The doctor used experimental medicines on him, turning him into a demon. Though he would have been saved, Muzan in a fit of rage killed the doctor. For a while he was okay, but severe side effects started showing up.
Eating human flesh as nourishment, and weakness to the sunlight was a major part of it. His aim was to find immortality and he would go to any extent for that. Blending into society, and having societal powers, were important to him. Thus he married innocent girls and lived with them until he felt bored and ended up cornering them. This pair of wife and daughter in the current story may also be part of his scheme.
