Meruem

Popularly known as the ‘Ant King’, he is the most powerful character in the world of hunters. Being the offspring of the Chimera Ant Queen, he is intelligent while having the power to consume fellow Nen users and use their abilities. His body can handle a nuclear bomb effect, while also having the power to push against Netero’s 100-type Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Adult Gon

The reason for saying ‘Adult’ Gon is simply because his adult version is way too powerful than his childlike form. If not for his summoning all his energy and power, thus transforming into his adult version, Gon would have been back in the ranking list. He sacrificed his life force to achieve stronger power in order to defeat Neferpitou who killed his friend Kite. In a power rank in this form, he is similar to Meruem.

Issac Neteron

It’s no wonder to place Neteron in the Top 3 as he is the most powerful character after Meruem. Neteron was the only one who could instill fear in Meruem. Even after being 100 years old, he could easily surpass the Ant King in the power of speed and technicality. During his prime, he was considered the most powerful hunter in the world.

Ging Freecss

Gon’s father Ging hasn’t made much of an appearance in the show, but it is clear that he is crazy powerful. He was considered the chairman of the Hunter Association after Neteron died. If he can be a candidate figure, we can only imagine his strength. Unfortunately, there weren’t any fight scenes where his true potential was shown. His power remains vastly unknown.

Neferpitou

The strongest among the Ant Kings guards, Neferpitou is a scary character whose Nen presence could easily instill fear even among the strongest hunters. Her desire to serve their King was so great that she could have gone to any level to protect him. Even after the fight ended, one of her puppets stayed behind without vanishing. If Gon didn’t summon his adult version, he would have been dead in no time.

Kurapika

Kurapika is also one of the best Nen users and a powerful character. Though his power is directed toward the Spider’s group, it is no doubt that he brought Chrollo Lucifer near death’s door by use of wits. He also brutally kills one of the Spiders, making viewers awe at the turn of events. He is a chain user, but his Specialist class allows him to use all Nen techniques to their fullest form, making him a formidable foe.

Chrollo Lucifer

He is placed below Kurapika, as the former defeated him once already. Even Chrollo had difficulty dealing with the aftermath and had to scatter across in search of a solution. As the leader of the Spiders Phantom Troupe, his power speaks volumes. If he fought against Kurapika seriously there’s no doubt their fight would have a gruesome end. Silver and Zeno both had difficulties fighting him. He is also the only character who wounded Hisoka.

Silva Zoldyck

The head of the Zoldyck family and the father of Killua, Silva is a powerful character who can perform superhuman feats. He is immune to the deadliest of poisons and is an excellent assassin himself. He crushed one of the Chimera Ants’ skulls which the hunters were struggling with. He can fairly use three classes of Nen techniques, marking him a powerful character.

Hisoka Morow

He is a character who is both liked and disliked by the viewers. Sometimes he’ll creep you out, while other times amuse you by displaying his powers. Hisoka‘s only motivation in life is to find strong characters and defeat them. That is also one of the reasons why he is so obsessed with Gon. in terms of pure physical strength, he ranked third among the Spiders, which is quite a feat.

Killua Zoldyck

In ‘Hunter x Hunter’, Killua was portrayed in two different lights. He has his soft, loyal side towards his friends especially towards Gon, while he sometimes showed his killer-machine side. He can manipulate his aura into electricity which is very powerful. Even though he’s weak compared to Gon’s adult form, he pushed himself into the Chimera Ant arc.
