Taylor Swift has been the highlight of the year 2023 for many reasons, be it her career or romantic life. While she aced it with her performances at the Eras Tour concert and was also named the ‘TIME Person of the Year’, the pop sensation has also seen a high tide in her relationship.
With the Golden Globe Awards coming, she is likely to add more feathers to her cap as is clear from the nominations. While the musician is all set to grace the red carpet on January 8, her beau Travis Kelce won’t be able to accompany her despite being in the same city at the time. Read on to know what is coming in the way of the couple’s romance.
Why Won’t Travis Kelce Join Taylor Swift For Golden Globes?
Taylor Swift is set to grace the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday. The singer has bagged several nominations, including the new category Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. 2023 has been a particularly good year for Taylor, complemented by her beau, Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce.
While the football player has been a constant source of support for the singer as he attended several of her concerts, he might not be able to accompany her for the Golden Globes, sources said. Kelce will be in the same city as Swift during the awards ceremony, but he will be busy gearing up for the NFL playoffs. He will be facing the LA Chargers at SoFi Stadium.
To fans’ disappointment, this would mean no red-carpet appearances or swanky after-parties for the Chiefs’ star player. Moreover, he’ll fly back to Kansas City right after the game, sources told Page Six.
However, in what comes as hope for the fans, Chiefs coach Andy Reid is yet to confirm Kelce’s participation in Sunday’s game. As the star’s on-field presence is uncertain, many are hoping for him to show up at the awards ceremony.

Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ In the Run For Golden Globes
Taylor Swift is a four-time nominee for the Globes’ Best Original Song and the hopes about her securing the first win with ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour‘ are pretty high. Her film has been fairly successful, as it grossed over $250 million and neared the record for the most successful concert film of all time. The title is currently held by Michael Jackson’s 2009 film, ‘This Is It’.
The musician skipped the Globes in 2023 as she was a part of the lengthy actors’ and writers’ Sag-AFTRA strikes. In 2020, she attended the awards ceremony with then-boyfriend Joe Alwyn. She is competing this year against blockbuster hits like ‘Barbie’ and ‘Oppenheimer’ among others.
The Globes will be broadcasted by CBS after NBC dropped them in 2021 due to controversies within The Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The awards have undergone some significant changes since then.
