The rumors about the two A-list singers dating started initially because of a TikTok post. The news that Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik were on a date night was first shared by the friend of the couple’s hostess. The friend @klarissa.mpeg said how her friend served the couple in a restaurant. She also said that the friend saw the two making out at the dinner. Klarissa also shared excerpts from her chat with her friend in her post. The user explained how she and her friend work at the same place. Their workplace is said to be a favorite amongst celebs.
In the chat, her friend says “Tell me how Selena Gomez and Zayn just walked into [restaurant] hand in hand making out and I seated them.” Another eyewitness gave a similar report to a publication.
The eyewitness said, “Selena and Zayn went out in SoHo in New York City last night at around 10:30 pm. They walked in holding hands and were kissing. Most restaurant staff and restaurant-goers didn’t notice them. It seemed like they were comfortable together and it was clear that it was a date.”

Are Selena And Zayn Really Dating?
Both Selena and Zayn were reportedly single when the rumors came out. Zayn Malik has been laying low after his breakup with supermodel Gigi Hadid. Whereas, Selena Gomez just reiterated the fact that she is single in a TikTok video. She lip-synced to viral audio which said, “I hate it when girls are like, ‘Oh my gosh, my crush doesn’t even know that I exist.’ Girl, my crush doesn’t even exist!” She also captioned the video, “Still out here lookin for him lol.”
After the rumors started swirling about the alleged couple, fans shared an old video from a red-carpet interview from the 2010s. Selena Gomez was asked by the interviewer which member of the band One Direction she would like to kiss. Gomez replied, “Oh No,” before quickly saying “Zayn”. Also, Gomez recently started following Malik on Instagram and she is one of 18 accounts followed by Malik. Although, neither Zayn nor Selena’s reps have yet commented on the rumors.
Earlier this year, Selena Gomez was rumored to be dating another singer Drew Taggart from the Chainsmokers. Both of them were seen together at a bowling alley in January. But Gomez was quick to refute the news. She posted on her Instagram story as well as in a post that she was single.
