In January 2021, Gigi took to Instagram to reveal the name of her daughter. The model changed her Instagram bio to “khai’s mom…”. From thence many took to find out what the meaning of the name might be. The couple disclosed that the date of the revelation – 12 January 2021 – was special to them. Since the date is a palindrome – 12121 – it meant luck to the parents.
Zayn too celebrated the new beginning of fatherhood with a post on Instagram. It was a black-and-white picture of the infant holding the finger of her father. What Does Khai Mean?
After much searching and seeking by fans, the meaning of Gigi’s daughter’s name was revealed. The name ‘Khai’ is a tribute to Gigi’s grandmother- Khairiah Daher Hadid. She was the Hadid siblings’ grandmother from their father’s side. The Hadids have often shared glimpses of their royal ancestor’s life. Khairiah was a direct descendant of Daher Al Omer, the king of northern Palestine until 1774. Yes, Gigi’s grandmother was a Palestinian princess.
Bella, Gigi’s sister’s middle name is also Khair. So it seems fitting that the new Hadid shall also carry the regal name. Gigi shares adorable pictures of her daughter on Instagram. And we may be confident that she might too carry the beauty gene from her family. Khai turned one last year.
