In a conversation on the season 4 premiere of Kevin Hart’s ‘Hart to Heart‘, Ben Affleck opened up about his preference for working behind the camera and his experiences in the public eye. Speaking about the same, he also candidly mentioned how his wife, Jennifer Lopez, steaks the show when it comes to popularity among fans.
Affleck said that he sees himself primarily as a director and also admitted to being “a little bit shy.” The ‘Batman‘ actor also said that he doesn’t enjoy the attention that comes with being in the spotlight. “This is why people see me [and] they’re like, ‘Well, this dude always mad…’ Because somebody has their camera and sticking to my face,” he said, adding that he has a “resting hard face“.
He clarified that while he doesn’t mind having his picture taken at public places, he’s protective of his children’s privacy. “I don’t mind you taking my picture about a club, a premiere, whatever. My wife, I don’t give a f—. Go ahead. Knock yourself out. I don’t notice you,” he said before adding, “My children, that’s a different thing,” he said.
Affleck shares three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and is a stepdad to Lopez’s twins from her previous marriage to Marc Anthony.

Ben Affleck Says Jennifer Lopez Is Way More Popular Than Him
Speaking further about his popularity among his fans, Ben Affleck drew parallels with his wife Jennifer Lopez’s popularity. While he admitted that people often wonder why he always looks so serious, they are often delighted to spot Lopez.
Recounting an incident, Affleck said, “We went somewhere with [Jennifer]—I can’t remember because she’s so famous, and she creates this—people love her. And she really represents something important to people.”
“[To me,] people are like, ‘Hey, I like your movie,’ and then they’re like ‘AHHHH! J-LO!’” he shouted. “It’s amazing, you know what I mean?” he added.
He also recalled another incident in Times Square where Lopez was swarmed by fans while they were out with their children. He described the chaotic scene, and how people were so eager to see her.
“We get out with her, all the kids, through Times Square, and the s— was like f—in’ bananas,’“ he recalled. “I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ There was a lady, she was smoking weed, in a full purple skintight suit—she’s a heavy lady—and she starts running backwards filming, going ‘J-LO!!’” he added.
He did not comment upon on the rumors around their current relationship status, with recent reports indicating some strain, as Lopez was vacationing in Italy without Affleck, and their Beverly Hills mansion was listed for sale. The couple was last seen together at Samuel’s graduation earlier in June.
