“It’s taken me a long time to process it,” she said. “I’m more angry now than I was able to be then. If you’re afraid, you’re rightfully so. They are scary situations. They don’t have to be violent to be scary.”

Shields Kept Silent As She Thought No One Would Believe Her
For more than 30 years, the ‘Suddenly Susan‘ actress did not talk about the assault because she thought “no one is going to believe me.” She added, “People weren’t believing those stories back then. I thought I would never work again.”
The actress said the horrific incident happened after a dinner meeting with the executive, calling it the “lowest point of my career.” “I thought I was getting a movie, a job,” she said.
After the meeting, Shields was called back to the producer’s hotel room where she was assaulted by him. “I didn’t fight. I just froze,” she said. Afterward, the actress kept blaming herself for that incident. In her two-part documentary, Shields talks about her early Hollywood days and stint as a child model.
