Who Is Robin Dearden?
Bryan Cranston has been married two times. His first wedding was to Mickey Middleton in 1977. The duo was married for half a decade, but then they got divorced in 1982. Micky was a writer by profession and just 23 when she married Bryan. However, after the split, she remarried within six months to her current partner Steve. Bryan went on to marry his present wife, Robin Dearden and they have been going strong for 31 years.
Robin Dearden was born in Los Angeles, California on December 4, 1953. She is an actress, notable for her TV roles in ‘Magnum, P.I.‘ and ‘Chicanery‘. She has given outstanding performances in films such as ‘Wooly Boys,’ ‘Last Chance,’ and ‘Myron Movies,’ among others. She also directed the first two films. Cranston is responsible for writing the film ‘Last Chance.’
In 1993, Robin Dearden and Bryan Cranston welcomed their daughter Taylor Cranston into the world. Taylor is an ambitious actor and has already established herself in the film business despite the fact that she is just 24 years old. In Cranston’s critically acclaimed television drama ‘Breaking Bad,‘ both his wife and daughter appeared in brief cameo roles. How Did Bryan Cranston Meet Robin Dearden?
In an interview with People, Bryan Cranston revealed a funny incident and how he met the love of his life. The actors appeared in an episode of the military drama ‘Airwolf‘ as special guests. He was the antagonist, a scorned lover who sabotaged a sorority’s vacation. The character Bryan played put a pistol to Robin’s head as she played one of the sorority sisters. When the scene was filmed, they hit it off immediately. They instantly began flirting. However, once production wrapped, they went their own ways because they were each already in committed relationships.
Bryan and Robin reunited after a year, and continued where they had left off, but with greater wisdom and experience. Cranston referred to the fact that they had to wait a year to begin dating as “serendipitous.” The reason behind the same is if they hadn’t, “she doesn’t think that [they] would have stayed together.” They were able to flirt without the strong sexual strain, “but there was sexual tension, let me tell you,” Cranston added.
Talking about the proposal, Bryan knew he couldn’t face her throughout the preparations because he would burst into tears. But the setting presented a problem. He needed a secret place to stow away the ring before proposing. He finally decided to wear it on his little toe. And at the appropriate moment, he extended his leg and said, “Here’s your ring, but I can’t reach it. Remove that ring off my toe.” For Dearden, the “very romantic” proposal was the catalyst for a happy marriage that has lasted 31 years.
