What Is The ‘Barbie’ Dreamhouse Like?
Greta Gerwig’s production team did wonders when creating the Barbie Dreamhouse. The all-pink house has many features. Margot Robbie shows off her all-pink kitchen at the beginning of the video. Moving on to the living room, we see a fun little pink bar.
Then Margot shows everyone the slide that takes Barbie from her bedroom to the pool. This slide is also Margot Robbie’s favorite from the house. Upstairs we see Barbie’s bedroom with her magical wardrobe. The houses are transparent so every morning the fellow Barbies wave at each other.
Barbie’s dream house also features a shower and a pink bubble bath. Although there is no water in Barbieland, Barbie takes a shower every morning. She then steps into her magical wardrobe to get dressed. Margot told the viewers about the inspiration behind the wardrobe. She said, “This was a design thing that we were really excited about. We were saying that [with] the wardrobe in Clueless the bar was set so high, and we would really like to do something that is as cool as that.”

Viewers Are In Awe Of The Production
In the video, not only does Robie show us through the house, but we also get snippets about the production procedure. Many people were impressed that an actual set was built instead of the use of CGI. Director Greta Gerwig also took us through the process of building the whole house.
“I can’t even tell you the meetings we’ve had about pink. We sat with all these different kinds of pinks and we were like, ‘What is the pink and how do the pinks interact?’” Gerwig said, “Because I didn’t want it to be so classy…When I was a little girl, I liked the pinkest, brightest thing.”
We also saw the miniature Barbie Land model that was built initially. Every detail has been planned and every shade of pink has been discussed. In fact, ‘Barbie‘ used so much pink that the world ran out of pink color and there was a shortage.
