Charlie Sheen and his ex-wife Brooke Mueller have reached a new deal in their long-running child support dispute involving their 17-year-old twin sons, Bob and Max.
The agreement comes months after Mueller claimed the Two and a Half Men star owed her more than $15 million, but newly filed court papers now show a very different settlement figure.
Charlie Sheen Agrees To Pay Brooke Mueller $500,000

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Sheen has agreed to pay Mueller, 48, $500,000 in unpaid child support. The former actress will receive the money in two parts, with half due by Friday, July 10, and the rest due by Tuesday, Sept. 1.

The payment will settle child support obligations and interest covering the period between March 2011 and July 2026. The agreement also introduces a new financial arrangement starting Wednesday, July 1. Each parent will now take full financial responsibility for Bob and Max whenever the twins are in their custody.
Neither Mueller nor Sheen’s representative immediately responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment. The former couple married in 2008 and ended their marriage in 2011.
Brooke Mueller Previously Claimed Sheen Owed Over $15 Million

The new settlement comes after Mueller made a much larger claim in December. According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, she alleged that Sheen owed around $15.3 million in child support for their twin sons.

Mueller said the total included $8,967,600 in unpaid child support and another $6,418,643 in interest. She also asked Sheen to pay the full amount within 30 days and sought $25,000 in attorney fees.
According to Mueller, a court ordered Sheen to pay $55,000 per month in child support in April 2010. She said the payments arrived without problems until July 2011, when Sheen allegedly began making partial payments or sometimes failed to pay anything. At the time of those claims, Mueller’s representative declined to comment, while Sheen’s representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Sheen and Mueller share legal custody of Bob and Max, but the arrangement depends on Mueller’s sobriety. The agreement states that the parents will “continue to enjoy joint legal custody” unless Mueller tests positive for drugs and alcohol or otherwise relapses.
If that happens, Sheen would receive sole custody “until further court order or written agreement of the Parties,” and the change could take place with as little as 48 hours’ notice.
