Cosmetic brand Milani shares that it wants to make the records straight after it was dragged into the Depp vs Heard defamation trial. The brand highlights that it does not want to get involved in the duo’s fight. Johnny Depp‘s defamation suit against his ex-wife Amber Heard was recently linked to the drugstore cosmetics brand.
While presenting the opening statement for this week’s trial, the attorney of Heard stated that Amber put up makeup to cover off the scars. Heard’s other lawyer even showed the jury the concealer palette. The palette is no longer available on the company’s website but is available for $25 on a resale site. Throughout her relationship with Johnny Depp, Amber used Milani’s Conceal + Perfect All-in-One Correcting Kit. There were hints that Amber used to cover the injuries from the makeup. The injuries are from the physical abuse by Depp while they were married.
Why Is Milani Dragged Into The Suit?
The makeup company is dragged into this mess, and it is in surprise because of the summons they have received for the trial. On April 22, Thursday, the makeup company took to its official TikTok account to controvert the claims of Amber Heard. The company posted a fifteen-second video to state the false claims of Amber Heard.
The scene shifts to Milani’s headquarters. Here a young woman holds a product catalog that is open to the page describing the makeup compact. The camera then pans to a slide that clearly states the product’s 2017 release date. And it is known that the violence took place from 2013 to 2017. Hence, indicates that Heard was not using that palette during her relationship with Depp. The brand in its comments states that all they are doing is providing facts to the false claims.
The Johnny Depp – Amber Heard Feud!
Since their divorce in 2017, the two actors have been feuding in and out of the courtroom. Their tumultuous trial is still ongoing in Virginia’s Fairfax County Circuit Court, which will determine whether Depp was defamed by Heard’s 2018 Washington Post essay, which many interpreted as a blow-by-blow account of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star’s misdeeds. Depp is seeking at least $50 million in compensatory damages, as well as $350,000 in punitive damages, attorneys’ fees, and court costs, despite his vehement denial of the allegations.
