Romantic separations, especially in Hollywood, can leave even the most resilient ones grappling with grief. While we’re used to seeing our favorite celebrities as our heroes, their flawed, human lives continue parallelly. Hugh Jackman‘s divorce with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness is one such unconventional happening that has taken a toll on both Jackman and Furness.
Speaking about it, Deborra-Lee Furness recently opened up about how challenging it has been for her to adapt to change after her unexpected separation from longtime partner Hugh Jackman.

“I Think It Is Probably Our Greatest Gift”: What Deborra-Lee Furness Said About Change
Speaking at the premiere of her latest film, ‘Force of Nature: The Dry 2‘, Furness spoke about her transition. “You know what, change, transition, evolution is a little frightening and we are all a bit scared of it but I think it is probably our greatest gift,” she said.
Furness notably wasn’t wearing her wedding ring for the premiere. The freshly divorced actress said working on the movie had kept her busy. “There were so many appealing factors for me, a great script by Jane Harper and directed by Robert Connolly,” she said of the movie.
“I love Eric and coming home to Australia to shoot in the wilds,” she said.
The couple had a nearly three-decade-long marriage before they announced their separation in September.

“Our Journey Now Is Shifting”: Jackman and Furness On Their Divorce
The duo released a statement during their divorce, clarifying that their journeys are shifting. “We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” they shared.
“Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority,” the statement added.
Even after the divorce, their enduring bond has sustained its importance in both Jackman and Furness’s lives. Furness and Jackman celebrated the actor’s 55th birthday together in October, as was revealed by Page Six.
Though the two have gotten separated, the couple remain committed to navigating the next chapter with “gratitude, love, and kindness.”
