Kim Kardashian has been facing a lot of flak in recent days. Many people are condemning the reality star after a video claimed that she has damaged the Marilyn Monroe dress. The actress has borrowed the dress for her Met Gala appearance.
The big revelation is done by ‘Ripley’s Believe It in or Not’. Ripley’s is the real owner of the dress and they have given an official statement about the current condition of the dress. Here is everything you need to know.
Did Kim Kardashian Really Damage Marilyn Monroe Dress?
Marilyn Monroe famously wore the gown for President John F. Kennedy’s birthday in 1962. Ripley has paid $4.8 million at auction to acquire the outfit for their collection.
Amanda Joiner, Ripley’s VP of Publishing and Licensing, spoke to TMZ about the dress’s condition. She was with Kim throughout the Met Gala, from the moment she put on the gown until the moment it was returned.
Amanda stated, “From the bottom of the Met steps, where Kim got into the dress, to the top where it was returned, the dress was in the same condition it started in.”
Kim just wore the dress for the images and then changed into a duplicate outfit for the remainder of the night. Ripley’s noted that the garment has been shown across the world since they purchased it, putting it in danger of harm.
