Taylor Swift might have found love at the 2016 Met Gala as she laid her eyes on soon-to-be boyfriend Joe Alwyn and then her ex, but the timeline, it seems, is a little blurry as it involves three gentlemen and an overlap of dating eras.
Swift’s relationship with Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston was short-lived, she spared both of them just three songs on her discography, where she potentially hinted at having cheated on both of them.

Signs Taylor Swift Cheated On Calvin Harris
Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift’s relationship was one of the most public relationships of her life where she often posted him online with cheesy captions and the two were spotted on vacations together. The couple broke up after fifteen months of dating, in July 2016. Interestingly, a month before, Swift allegedly had already hit it off with Tom Hiddleston, whom she met at the Met Gala that year.

A clip of the two dancing the night away went viral, with growing suspicions of Swift having overlapped both relationships. Less than three weeks after her breakup with Harris, Swift and Hiddleston went public as they were seen attending concerts together.
In her song ‘Getaway Car’ fans suspect she wrote about Hiddleston, Swift also sings about Harris with the lines, “I wanted to leave him, I needed a reason.” She then adds, “While he was runnin’ after us, I was screamin’, ‘Go, go, go!‘/ But with three of us, honey, it’s a sideshow/ And a circus ain’t a love story.”
The whole idea of the song is Tom Hiddleston offering her a getaway from a relationship she didn’t want to be in anymore. Plus the overlapping of timelines suggests that there was, in fact, a teensy bit of unfaithfulness on her part. This is also something she talks about in her song ‘High Infidelity’ where she sings, “You know there’s many different ways that you can kill the one you love. The slowest way is never loving them enough / Do you really want to know where I was April 29th? / Do I really have to tell you how he brought me back to life?“

Swift might have gotten her getaway car from Calvin Harris at the Met Gala, thanks to Tom Hiddleston. But there was also something more significant that happened that day. She met her muse for the next six albums.
The 2016 Met Gala served as the first time she met Joe Alwyn. Proof of this is a lyric from a song from ‘Reputation‘ called ‘Dress‘, where she sings, ‘Flashback when you met me/ Your buzzcut and my hair bleached’
Though there aren’t any records of Swift dating Joe until November of that year, it’s worth mentioning that 2016’s Met Gala was an eventful night for her.
