“Don’t Say, ‘Show Me Leg,’ No”: Hannah Waddingham Shuts Down Paparazzi For A Sexist Demand On Red Carpet

Hannah Waddingham is not taking any sexist comments from the paparazzi. Women in Hollywood have always been vulnerable to the male gaze but some like Waddingham are fighting it back like a queen. The ‘actress ‘Game of Thrones‘ actress has clapped back at a photographer on the red carpet who asked her to “show leg“.

The star was at the London Theatre Awards on Sunday, where she walked the steps of the Royal Albert Hall before the award ceremony. The actress struck some graceful poses while the photographers captured her in the stunning lilac dress. However, a person from the paparazzi asked her to show some leg while posing and she lost her cool.

Oh my God, you’d never say that to a man,” she said. “Don’t be a d*ck otherwise I’ll move off“,” she added before giving a conclusive response, “Don’t say ‘show me leg.’ No.” The disappointment on her face was obvious but she handled the situation with a bold reply.

The video of Hannah Waddingham’s bold reply went viral on social media and soon gained heavy traction from fans. Many praised her for raising her voice. “Long story short: Hannah was being her gorgeous self and the [photographer] made some comment about her leg we couldn’t quite make out and… well, the video speaks for itself. This woman is a role model. Always, always call pricks out on their bullsh*t,” one of her fans wrote in the caption of the video.

As for the award night, actors Sarah Snook and Nicole Scherzinger were among the most awarded people for the evening. Meanwhile, Waddingham, is currently working on her ‘Mission Impossible 8’ with Tom Cruise. The movie was all set to release in June 2024 but is shifted to May 2025.

Waddingham also clarified how good of a person Tom Cruise is and that she won’t take anything against him. She also defended the ‘Top Gun‘ actor during another interview at the James Martin’s Saturday Morning program. “Having met him and having spent five days intensely… he is without doubt one of the loveliest and encouraging, positive and inspiring human beings I have ever met. Isn’t he gorgeous?” she said.
