Recently, the Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias had to cancel his performance at a music festival on May 14. Enrique is a Spanish singer and songwriter known for his hits ‘Hero‘ and ‘Baby I Like It‘. He is one of the best-selling Latin music artists with estimated sales of over 70 million records.
Enrique was all set to perform at the music festival in Mexico, Tecate Emblema. Unfortunately, due to an illness, the singer had to cancel his performance, leaving millions of his fans disappointed. So, what happened?

What Happened To Enrique Iglesias?
The artist issued a statement explaining to the fans that he was suffering from pneumonia and the doctor advised him to take complete bed rest. Enrique Iglesias wrote, “I have pneumonia and the doctors have advised me to rest absolutely and not to get on a plane. I am frankly sad about what it means to cancel this show in a country that has given me so much.”
He further added, “I hope to recover quickly and to be able to be back with you in top form very soon. I apologize a thousand times and I send a big hug to all my fans.”
However, Iglesias’ absence was taken over by Netflix ‘Elite’ star Danna Paola. Also, the rest of the lineup was the same featuring The Chainsmokers, One Republic, Belinda, The Driver Era, Vittar, and Melanic C on day one. Day two was followed by KYGO, Becky G, Camilo, and Robbie Williams.

Updates On Enrique Iglesias’s Condition
The Spanish singer’s mother Isabel Preysler has updated his fans about his condition. Isabel told Carlos Perez Gimeno, a journalist, “It was a scare, but fortunately he’s home now. My son is very responsible and it was a great disappointment for him to have to cancel the concert because he is a great professional. Fortunately, he is recovering, although he is still in bed, and let’s hope that in a few days, he will be able to return to his professional activity.”
Despite his illness and the battle of recovery, Enrique Iglesias relaunched the video of his famous song Hero which starred Jennifer Love Hewitt and Mickey Rourke.
