Family Of Fan Who Died Before Taylor Swift’s Rio Concert Attends Final Show

The family of Ana Clara Benevides, the young woman who died at Taylor Swift‘s concert in Rio de Janeiro, attended the singer’s final show in Brazil’s São Paulo. The 23-year-old fan died on November 17 before Swift’s concert at Estadio Nilton Santos amid the ongoing heatwave across South America.

The family was seen donning custom-made T-shirts with Benevides’ face printed on them. The family was given a VIP entrance at the Allianz Parque stadium where the singer performed.

23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides suffered a heart attack at Swift’s Rio de Janeiro show on November 17. Another cardiac arrest while she was being transferred to a hospital took her life.

Swift was devastated by the news and also took to her Instagram to notify her fans about the incident. “I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show,” she wrote in a post on her Instagram story.

The singer had reportedly said that it would be too much for her to address the death of a fan on stage. However, fans believe, her rendition of “Bigger Than the Whole Sky” performed on November 19 as part of her tour was a tribute to the Benevides.

As Taylor Swift wrapped up the South American leg of her Eras Tour, the next day’s concert was announced to have been postponed less than 24 hours after Benevides’ death. The singer is now slated to get on tour in February next year.
