Singer Jewel has finally put a stop to the rumors swirling around her alleged relationship with ‘Yellowstone’ star Kevin Costner. Speaking to Elle in a profile released on Thursday, the singer-songwriter opened up about her connection with the Hollywood icon as she admitted being aware of the intense public interest in their rumored romance.
“He’s a great person,” the singer said, adding that she feels that “the public fascination is intense for sure.”
The speculation about 69-year-old Costner and 49-year-old Jewel dating began when the two were spotted together on Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands last December. They were photographed in what appeared to be a cozy moment as the two were at a tennis fundraiser for Jewel’s Inspiring Children Foundation.
In the photos in question, Costner’s arms were around Jewel’s waist as she addressed a crowd. Shortly after these images surfaced, an insider revealed to Us Weekly that the pair had been quietly dating for some time.

Highlighting the mutual admiration and compatibility between Jewel and Kevin Costner, the source said that the two shared a love for music which acted as a significant factor in their bond. “Kevin and Jewel had an extremely high opinion of each other and have always gotten along great,” the source said at the time. “They check a lot of boxes for each other.”
In terms of music, Costner is known for his band ‘Modern West‘, and Jewel is deeply entrenched in the country-and-western world. The two reportedly knew each other for years before their relationship took a romantic turn. Friends of the couple even joked about the surprise of their not getting together sooner.
Costner recently finalized his divorce from his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner in September 2023 after a legal battle. However, the ‘Yellowstone‘ actor seems to have found solace and companionship in Jewel.
