Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik may have called it quits, but their 21-month-old daughter Khai is being raised in a family unit. As co-parents, they’re killing it! “They’re not living together, but Zayn visits Gigi and Khai at the farm in Pennsylvania a lot when they’re there,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly. “They like to spend time away from the city because it’s more safe, quiet, and exclusive.”
While “co-parenting comes with certain challenges and ups and downs,” the insider added that the supermodel and former One Direction member are “doing the best they can to make it work.” They divide up their parenting time to ensure Khai is still “very much a part” of her father’s life.
Gigi and Zayn “have a loving and caring relationship despite being broken up,” according to the source, who added the former pair “don’t hate each other, that’s for sure.“
The insider further told Us that while Hadid is a “very hands-on mother” who enjoys bringing her little one on set “when she can,” she prefers to leave her at home to “shield her daughter from the public and paparazzi, which is why she rarely posts [on social media] about her.”
Gigi Wished “Khai’s Baba” Zayn On Father’s Day
Gigi took to Instagram to wish both Zayn Malik and her father, Mohamad Hadid on Father’s Day. “Happy Father’s Day to my sweet baba,” she captioned a throwback snapshot of herself and her father on Instagram Stories. She added, “I love you!”
Next, she posted a picture of the singer and Khai where they were seen playing with arts and crafts materials. The caption read, “& to Khai’s baba!!!!”
The news of Gigi and Zayn’s good parenting and understanding comes months after the model’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, claimed she and the “What Makes You Beautiful” singer fought. The couple discreetly split during the turmoil but were said to be “on amicable terms” and “getting along just fine” after the separation.
