“I Had So Much Fun”: Emma Roberts Wants To Do Another Superhero Movie After ‘Madame Web’

‘Madame Web’ was an underwhelming movie and didn’t perform well in the theatres. It was another failure in the Marvel streak. Even the actors including Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney weren’t satisfied with the film, even though it was their first time playing the role of superhero. But Emma Roberts has a different approach to it.

Emma Roberts feels she still has future with the role of superheroes. Emma played the role of Mary Parker in the movie and she would welcome more such role for her expansive part in the super hero comics.

Emma Roberts Would Love To Try More Superhero Roles

The box office earnings and the response of ‘Madame Web’ seemingly put clouds over the movie. The performance of the movie was very below average and it got added to the ‘dead’ list of Marvel Cinematic Universe. But Emma Roberts thinks it as the other way. The actress feels that more such superhero projects could uplift her superhero career.

During an interview with ComicBook.com, the actress shared her desire to continue with such roles in the future. She said, “I was a civilian in Madame Web. I loved getting to just pop in and play Peter Parker’s mom, and I love the director of that movie [S.J. Clarkson]. I had so much fun. I think that playing comic book characters is so fun. I would love to get the chance to play one that gets a little more action, maybe.”

Emma Roberts had a great time playing the role of Peter Parker’s mother in Spiderman’s spinoff. She also specified to play the role of a witch in the comic book series. Emma has some roles in her mind that she would love to portray.

Emma’s Character Might Not Have A Spandex Costume, She Still Felt Heroic While Wearing It

    Mary Parker

In the movie Madame Web’, Emma plays the role of Mary Parker who is pregnant with Peter aka Spiderman during most of her screen time. She is the sister-in-law of Ben Parker (Adam Scott), a.k.a. Uncle Ben. Talking about her costume Emma said that even though her costume didn’t have the spandex costume her role still made her feel heroic.

She said, “I just got to wear a nine-month pregnant belly,” she said. “Again, that is heroic! You don’t even know what that’s like. And then I had to do it on American Horror Story, for another six months of my life wearing a belly”.

Roberts continued, “I should have three kids by now, and I only have one, with the amount of times I’ve had to be pregnant.”

Moreover, the other characters in the movie have mixed reactions to their roles in the film. Sydney Sweeney said that her role was a “building block” for her future roles. She said, “It’s what allowed me to build a relationship with Sony. Without doing Madame Web I wouldn’t have a relationship with the decision-makers over there,” she said. “Because I did that, I was able to sell Anyone But You. I was able to get Barbarella.”

On the other hand, Johnson seemed more disappointed with the movie as compared to Sydney Sweeney and Emma. And she wasn’t surprised with negative reviews either.
