Taylor Swift Wants To Direct A Feature Film
After making her mark in the music field, Taylor made her foray into filmmaking in 2021. She wrote and directed a semi-autobiographical short film ‘All Too Well: The Short Film.’
The ‘Blank Space’ singer recently screened the film at the Toronto Film Festival, which is based on her song ‘All Too Well‘, for the first time on 35mm. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she talked about directing a feature film.
“If it were the right thing, it would be such a privilege and honor,” she said. “I will always want to tell human stories about human emotion”. Swift also gave a shoutout to female directors in Hollywood.
“It’s really beautiful that we’re in a place where the idea of a female filmmaker doesn’t make you roll your eyes or think as skeptically as it once was.”
“I didn’t go to film school. I’ve been on the set of around 60 music videos and I’ve learned a lot from that process,” she recalled. “But when I did it on my own, I really began to learn everything, because you have to.” Swift directed her first music video for ‘The Man,’ based on the song from her 2019 album Lover. She has also directed music videos for her singles ‘Cardigan‘ and ‘Willow.’

The Short Film Was Rumored To Be Based On Her Relationship With Jake Gyllenhaal
Swift’s film ‘All Too Well: The Short Film’ was rumored to be inspired by her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal. Dylan O’Brien, who plays the male lead, was asked about it. He refuted the claim by stating that his character’s name is Brandon.
The ‘You Need To Calm Down‘ singer has earlier talked about being judged by the media for her single status. “I do feel jaded about relationships, to be honest”, she said.
“I think the media has sent me an unfair message over the past couple of years, which is that I’m not allowed to date for excitement, or fun, or new experiences, or learning lessons.”
She further added: “I’m only allowed to date if it’s for a lasting, multiple-year relationship. Otherwise, I’m a, quote, serial dater. Or, quote, boy crazy.”
