Selena Gomez Suffers From Bipolar Disorder
It was in an Instagram Live with Miley Cyrus back in 2020 that Selena Gomez opened up about suffering from bipolar disorder. The artist admitted to being a people pleaser while in the interview with Fast Company. Being in the spotlight from a very young age, she felt overly responsible, and being looked upon by young people.
“I went through a really hard season. It was my highs and my lows, and I didn’t know what to do, so I couldn’t control it. I would want to cancel things. It was just a tormented feeling. That’s why, when I found out my diagnosis, it was just, ‘Oh, okay, I feel a bit relieved, I understand a bit more,’ the ‘Only Murders On The Building‘ actress explained. Social Media Took Toll On Selena Gomez
Social media became a place alien to Selena Gomez after she started getting trolled for her weight gain. The ‘Monte Carlo’ actress also shared her experience of how she couldn’t fit into dresses as she tried them for a fashion magazine.
“None of the sample sizes were fitting, and that would make me feel embarrassed. Although how unrealistic is it to expect a normal woman’s body not to change?” the singer had become skeptical.
The artist started feeling low scrolling through social media. “Then there were those moments of not feeling positive about how I looked because of what I’d see on Instagram. Wow, I wish my body looked like that,” Selena confesses.
It is all these remarks, talks, and experiences that gave rise to Rare Beauty, the makeup line by Selena Gomez. In addition, the Rare Impact Fund initiated by the Disney alum is all set to provide services on mental health issues.
