Author of the highly acclaimed ‘Harry Potter’ series, J.K. Rowling, has once again stirred the pot after she has refused to accept potential apologies from her former ‘Harry Potter’ stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, for what she deemed “movements to erode women’s hard-earned rights“.
Her statement came in the comments section of one of her posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, where she shared an independent review “of the medical evidence for transitioning children“
J.K. Rowling is infamous for her open and unapologetic transphobic stance and has faced widespread scrutiny for her views. Continuing the streak and standing her ground, the author released the review to back up her argument.
In the comments section of the post, a user wrote, “Just waiting for Dan and Emma to give you a very public apology … safe in the knowledge that you will forgive them … ” Neither of the stars has commented on the review she has published, though the comment got a response from Rowling.
In response to the comment, Rowling asserted, “Not safe, I’m afraid. Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women’s hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single sex spaces.”
Representatives for both Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson have not responded to a plea for comments yet.

Daniel Radcliffe And Emma Watson Had Spoken Up Against J.K. Rowling’s Transphobic Essay In 2020
This isn’t the first time J.K. Rowling has gotten herself mired in controversy. The author has faced widespread backlash for her views on transgender rights. In June 2020, she published an essay criticizing transgender rights that gained heavy negative limelight with LGBTQ advocates and stars of her movies condemning her views.
GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis denounced Rowling’s comments as “misinformed and dangerous.”
At the time, Radcliffe publicly voiced his support for trans women as he trashed Rowling’s essay. He strongly asserted that “transgender women are women” as opposed to what J’K. Rowling has tried to propagate. Emma Watson also expressed her solidarity with the trans community, affirming that “trans people are who they say they are.”
Various other Harry Potter actors, including Jason Isaacs, Harry Melling, and Rupert Grint, have weighed in on the matter. Grint, who played Ron Weasley, also expressed his support for the trans community.
