The wait is finally over as the age of the new Superman has been revealed. The DC fans were extremely upset over James Gunn firing Henry Cavill from the role of Superman. But Gunn was redeemed after revealing that David Corenswet will be replacing Henry Cavill as Clark Kent. As the new DC boss, Gunn redesigned the entire DC with a fresh vision, and surprisingly the already existing Superman did not match his vision.
Revealing the age factor as the reason to fire Henry Cavill, the fans were eager to know the age of David Corenswet’s Superman. The age of the new Clark Kent has been a concerning topic since ‘Superman: Legacy’ is not an origin story as it will primarily focus on the early life of the Kryptonian hero.
How Old Will David Corenswet’s Superman Be?
James Gunn confirmed that the new DC reboot’s Superman will actually be the same age of that as the actor, David Corenswet. And since the actor turned 31 on July 8, meaning that even Superman will be 31 years old.
On the other hand, Henry Cavill is presently 40 years old, and since the filming begins next year, David Corenst will be older than Cavill when he first started at 29 in 2013’s ‘Man of Steel’. James Gunn made it clear stating that “All [he] ever said was Superman was younger than in his forties.”
Previous reports revealed that DC’s new Clark Kent would be 25 years old. But with Gunn’s clarification, it is clear that he did not want a Superman in his forties which automatically eliminated Henry Cavill.

Why Did James Gunn Focus Only On Younger Actors For The Role Of Rebooted Superman?
Among all the frontrunners for the role of Superman, James Gunn locked down David Corenswet for the role of rebooted Clark Kent. As he was the youngest among all. Ironically Corenswet is still older than Henry Cavill when the latter first wore the cape in 2013 for ‘Man of Steel’.
James Gunn also revealed the reason for picking a younger actor as the story of ‘Superman: Legacy’ will cover an earlier part of Superman’s life. Gunn tweeted, “Among those on the slate is Superman. In the initial stages, our story will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman’s life, so the character will not be played by Henry Cavill”.
