What’s The Controversy About Zachary Levi’s Pfizer Tweet?

The tweet that has landed Zachary Levi in trouble

‘Chuck’ breakout star Zachary Levi went on to appear in ‘Thor’ before being recast. Things worked out for Levi as he got to lead his superhero film ‘Shazam’ for DC cinematic universe. ‘Shazam’ star is not content with rising stardom. He has gone on record detailing his personal and political experiences, expressing a wide array of troubling political opinions.

In 2018, his tweet about white men having a discourse over racism and sexism met heavy criticism from the netizens. Another tweet from 2020 made him appear like a Donald Trump sympathizer. As for now, his response to a tweet criticizing the effects of Pfizer as COVID vaccine has landed him in a world of trouble from concerned citizens. He shared a press release link about Pfizer’s $2.3 billion settlement in 2009.

Lyndon Wood, a self-described “factual and truthful conspiracy theorist,” tweeted, “Do you agree or not, that Pfizer is a real danger to the world?” “Hardcore agree” was Zachary Levi’s response. In light of such remarks, the public could boycott his upcoming DC movie ‘Shazam And The Fury Of The Gods.’

How James Gunn Responding To The Backlash

James Gunn and Zachary Levi as Shazam

James Gunn has fired back at all the backlash, saying, “Real simple. If I’m at the mercy of actors, filmmakers that I work with are going to say things I agree with and I don’t agree with, that’s going to happen. I don’t have a list of things somebody should say because of what I think, and I can’t be changing my plans all the time because an actor says something I don’t agree with.

Gunn is keeping art separate from artists. Even as a filmmaker, he has always defended his actors amidst all backlash. Gunn, who was fired over his old tweets featuring jokes about pedophilia and Holocaust, will not be dragged into another social media brawl.
