Last year, Jeremy Renner faced a near-death accident when the actor was run over by a snowplow. Now fully recovered, Renner feels like a proud parent.
The Marvel actor revealed how his daughter, Ava, took responsibility for her father’s recovery and left as a more mature person. Renner co-parents Ava with his ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco. Here’s what he said about how the father-daughter dynamic changed after the accident.
Father-Daughter “Roles Reversed” Between Jeremy And Ava Renner
Jeremy Renner recently opened up about his ordeal following the snowplow accident that left him severely injured, and how his daughter took care of him. He explained that in the process, his daughter Ava “had to grow up in a lot of ways.”
After the accident, the actor had broken thirty-eight bones, collapsed a lung, and experienced immense chest trauma.
“I became the kid for the first six months. My daughter had to take care of me,” Renner told Parent. He added, “I overcame a lot of obstacles and got to show my daughter what resilience means by going through this journey with me.”
Jeremy bolstered as a proud parent as his daughter became more independent. However, the Hawkeye misses being a playful parent to Ava.
“I now struggle to find the fun, goofy dad version that I was when she was 4 or 8,” Jeremy said. “I have a harder time with that because I’ve been through some physical struggles. I just struggle to find the energy to be the jungle gym dad. But she’s 11. Maybe I don’t need to,” he added.

Jeremy Renner’s Love For His Daughter Is Now Deeper
The relationship between Jeremy and Ava Renner is stronger after his snowplow accident. The actor revealed that his love for Ava has “only amplified”.
Now that Renner has completely recovered, the actor plans to take over his duties as a parent. “I really understand my place as her father. It is my duty to teach her how to love, how to be strong, how to overcome. Leading by example has always been important to me,” Jeremy said.
“Now that she’s older there is a lot more communication involved. At this point, I’m here to guide and inspire her,” the actor let in on his parenting. The ‘Mission Impossible’ actor added, “I used to be her driver, her chef. Now I’m teaching her different things to cook in the kitchen and how to take care of herself but also be mindful of others.”
