Kanye West Compares Himself To ‘God’ In Controversial New Interview

Kanye West never runs out of controversial stances and statements. Ever since the beginning of his career, the rapper has had numerous problematic incidents but continues to thrive as an artist despite it all.

In newer news, West spoke about God and that he’s had “issues with” Jesus, comparing himself to Him. As his controversial take takes over social media once again, here’s what West said in the interview.

In a new interview with Big Boy Tv, Kanye West opened up on his issues and disappointments with God in a more controversial take.

West said, “The main thing that really that I don’t rock with is it’s just always like, ‘I’mma pray for you.’ And it’s just like, you can actually physically do something yourself too, more than just pray. We’re so in this mentality that that’s all that needs to happen but we ain’t praying our way out of prison.”

He further added, “We ain’t praying our way out the abortion clinics. We ain’t praying our way to get our land back that was always ours after gentrification, after the Harlem Renaissance and Black Wall Street was burned to the ground. Them prayers ain’t working.”

He then compares himself to God and says, “Cause I’m God. And anyone who wants to disagree, I’m the God of me. You can’t tell me who I am. I can’t tell y’all. I could tell y’all. It’s your job to listen. I’m the God of me. I don’t know if I’m in heaven already.”

His problematic take has already garnered hundreds of criticism from social media users. Ye’s statement comes after his history of antisemitism, racism and his ‘White Lives Matter’ protest.

This isn’t the first time Ye has expressed his views on God. Previously the rapper was religious and advocated for God and was religious with pride.

Back in 2020, he had said, “God using us to show off, to show God is better than the Devil. The Devil took all the producers, the musicians, the designers. He moved us all out to Hollywood, moved us all out to New York. Chasing gold statues.

“Literally signing a contract and selling our souls. They got contracts out there that say, ‘you can’t say Jesus’. When we were working on this album, people were coming to the studio just to say ‘Jesus’ as loud as they wanted to. You can say Jesus in ‘Ye studio,” Kanye finished.

In 2019 he said, “When I was in my lowest points, God was there with me and sending me visions and inspiring me. I remember sitting in the hospital at UCLA after having a breakdown and there’s documentations of me drawing a church and writing about starting a church in the middle of Calabasas.”

He added, “Even after that I made the Life of Pablo album and said this is a gospel album. I didn’t know how to totally make a gospel album and the Christians that were around were too beaten into submission by society to not speak up and profess the gospel to me because I was a superstar. But the only superstar is Jesus.”
