Celine Dion Shares A Heartfelt Message On Instagram Recognizing The Stiff Person Syndrome Awareness Day

In the oh-so-glamorous world of showbiz, the show-stopper’s every move is watched, admired, and critiqued all at the same time. A world like this is no place for the weak of heart but the legend Celine Dion doesn’t fall into that. The kind of star who’s proven time and again that she’s not just an entertainer, she’s a beacon of strength and inspiration.

The queen of ballads has been a rare sight in the past years due to her health. ’I’m Alive’ singer revealed in 2022 that she is suffering from a condition called stiff-person syndrome. It’s a state where the patient often experiences muscle stiffness in the abdomen and trunk which grows intense over time and reaches other parts of the body.

Given the discomfort of Dion’s condition, she’s been off the stage for a long time now. The ‘Love Again’ songstress’s last live performance was her 2019 London show, the diagnosis has taken quite the time off her musical ventures. But the ballad queen is not a fragile of heart and she proved that by recently sharing a strong message on Instagram.

On the occasion of International Stiff Person Syndrome Awareness Day, Celine posted a picture of her with her three sons. But it wasn’t just the photo that grabbed attention,  it was the promise nestled in her caption.

Dion wrote, “As many of you know, in the fall of 2022, I was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS). Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible. I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my kids, family, team and all of you!

I want to send my encouragement and support to all those around the world that have been affected by SPS. I want you to know you can do it! We can do it!”

Celine’s words of encouragement not only warmed hearts but also reignited the flames of hope and resilience in all the people suffering from SPS.
