The Artist Has Abandoned His Half House And Sculpture Mansion
Kanye West bought a sprawling, 3,665-square-foot mansion in Malibu in September 2021 for $57 million. Ye’s obsession with minimalism inspired the interior design of the Malibu house. The rapper collaborated with a Japanese designer, Tadao Ando, to build the “part house and part sculpture” mansion. It has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a breathtaking view of the ocean.
Now, the reports indicate that the construction work has stopped, and he has left the Malibu house to rot since 2022. The house only needed a small renovation, but Ye took the house down to rebuild. As per The Sun, the house has become the equivalent of a haunted house. The inside of the house has become fragile, and the water, air, and salt air are causing metal rods to rust.
