Met Gala 2023: Doja Cat And Jared Leto Literally Dress Like Cats

Doja Cat has made a name for herself in the music field at a very young age. The ‘Amala‘ rapper is also always in the news a lot of times because of her unique fashion sense. At the 2023 Met Gala, she and actor-singer Jared Leto showed up with a similar kind of outfit.

Both Cat (whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Damini) and Leto literally went feline as they dressed up in cat dresses. While they weren’t copying each other’s dresses, the theme was similar, evident, and very on-the-face. Doja Cat never fails to impress everyone with her eccentric fashion sense. At the Met Gala 2023, she once again proved her mantle by showing up as the famous pet cat of Karl Lagerfeld, Choupette.

The rapper made her Gala debut by wearing a custom silver sequined Oscar de la Renta gown. It was accompanied by a feline hoot and feathered train, resembling Choupette’s skin coat.

The look also consisted of cat ears as well as a prosthetic cat nose and dramatic cat eye makeup. Cat even made animal sounds during a live interview at the red carpet. Last year, she made headlines for shaving her head and eyebrows.

Doja Cat wasn’t the only one to pay tribute to Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette. Jared Leto also did a cosplay and showed up dressed as a feline on the red carpet. The ‘Suicide Squad‘ actor wore a full fur suit.

Later, Leto removed the detachable cat head from the costume and smiled at the media people. He is also set to produce and act in a biopic on the late designer.

Under the cat costume, he was wearing an all black dress and black cape along with a silver neckline. The black beautifully contrasted with his white shoulder pads. Leto has called Karl an “inspiration” and “a true polymath, an artist, an innovator, a leader and, most importantly, a kind man.”
