The ‘Stranger Things‘ actress, Millie Bobby Brown, finally opened up on her ties with the TikTok personality Hunter ‘Echo’ Ecimovic, after almost one year of his controversial live stream. The two, then 16-year-old Millie Bobbie Brown and 20-year-old Hunter, were rumored to be dating after a series of pictures surfaced on social media in which the two were embracing each other. Since the legal age of consent in California, where the TikTok personality is reportedly based, is 18, his alleged relationship with Millie sparked severe backlash online.
Last year in July, Hunter uploaded his Instagram live footage, in which he made several lewd comments about Millie. Hunter revealed personal and graphic details of their alleged sexual relationship. The ‘Enola Holmes‘ actress didn’t comment anything on it, until recently, in her interview with Allure.

Hunter Ecimovic’s Lewd Comments About Millie Bobby Brown, Who Was A Minor
Hunter was laughing off with his friends in the live footage, reacting to the social media reaction of his and Millie’s pictures that surfaced on the internet. Hunter alleged that Millie’s parents knew he was staying with Millie at her home for eight months. One of the most shocking comments he made was when he called himself the ‘groomer’ who ‘groomed’ a 16-year-old Millie. “There’s no lawsuit at all,” he said in the footage. “I was living in Millie’s house for eight months. How the f**k is there a lawsuit? Her mom and dad knew about everything.” He also added, “I will never apologize – I hope you know that. I have nothing to apologize for, so make that clear. I have zero things to apologize for.”
When the Instagram live footage was posted, Millie’s representatives released a statement condemning the ‘dishonest’ remarks. “Mr. Ecimovic’s remarks on social media are not only dishonest but also are irresponsible, offensive and hateful. Instead of engaging in a public discourse with him through the press or on social media, we are taking action to ensure that he stops this behavior once and for all,” the team commented.
Millie Said She ‘Felt Vulnerable’
Talking with Allure, the now 18-year-old actress expressed what she was going through during that time. She called their relationship an ‘unhealthy situation’ – one from which she ‘walked away.’ She broke off with him in January 2021, which was six months before Hunter’s claims surfaced.
“I felt very vulnerable,” Millie told the publication, adding, “Also, no one on the set knew I was going through this. So, it was kind of nice to be able to just deal with that myself and no one else knew. Then it was harder when the whole world knew.” Millie was filming ‘Enola Holmes’ during that time.
“When you get publicly humiliated this way—I felt so out of control and powerless. Walking away and knowing that I’m worth everything and this person didn’t take anything from me, it felt very empowering. It felt like my life had finally turned a page and that I actually had ended a chapter that felt so f**king long.” She also added, “Ultimately, all I wanted to do within my career is help young girls and young people out there know that I, too, go through things. I’m not this perfect person that is selling skin-care products and [who is] in Stranger Things. I absolutely have made wrong decisions.”
By the time Hunter’s live footage had surfaced, Millie had already moved on and was dating Jake Bongiovi.
