The 54-year-old actress opened up about her relationship with other co-stars of ‘Modern Family’ on ‘The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast’. And she talked about being mentioned by Sarah Hyland in an interview for helping her come out of an abusive relationship.
“I was a responsible adult that happened to be around at the right time,” Bowen said.”I mean, I’m sure another responsible adult would have done the exact same thing. I just love her.” Julie Bowen also said how she thinks of the stars who played her children as her kids and feels a maternal connection to all of them including Rico Rodriguez, who played her younger stepbrother. “I look at them all like my kids,” she continued. “I love them.”

Sarah Hyland And Matthew Prokop’s Complicated Relationship
The abusive relationship that is being talked about was between Sarah Hyland and Matthew Prokop. Hyland had obtained a restraining order against Prokop and he was accused of physically and verbally abusing her during their relationship. Reportedly, Prokop had tried to choke her at one point and even threatened her after they split.
During one such episode, Prokop had lashed out and a scared Hyland had called over Julie Bowen. Bowen had advised her to leave for her safety. Hyland had talked about how grateful she was for the cast members of ‘Modern Family’. “In every aspect of life they’re the best for me,” the actress told People. “We’re always there for each other. And it’s wonderful. I love them.”
