‘Modern Family‘ is one of the most loved sitcoms that fans still run to for a nostalgic and wholesome watch. While the show has ended, fans still have a warm place reserved for its characters in their hearts. But it is not just the fans who are still attached to the show, — the cast of the show has also managed to remain in touch and get the love they have for each other beyond the show’s limits.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson, known for his role as Mitchell on the sitcom, recently showed up for his TV daughter’s performance. Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, who played the character of Mitchell’s son Lily on the show, recently had a school play. And reserving their seats were her onscreen father and aunt!

Jesse Tyler Ferguson took to Instagram to share a mini-reunion with Julie Bowen, who plays his sister Claire on the hit ABC show, at Aubrey Anderson-Emmons’ school play, ‘The Theory of Relativity‘. The trio struck an adorable pose backstage for a photo together.
In the Instagram post, Ferguson referred to Bowen as his sister and praised Anderson-Emmons for her performance. “Took my sis to see the kiddo in her school musical, The Theory of Relativity. So proud of you @aubreyandersonemmons!” the caption of the post read.
He also urged fans to attend the show if they were in the vicinity. Fans flooded the comments section with messages of admiration for the reunion, as they also praised the bond between the former castmates.
“Cam would be so proud ,” one comment on the post read, making a reference to the husband of Ferguson’s character Mitchell played by Eric Stonestreet. “It’s awesome to see that even after the show has ended, you all consider yourself still family,” another fan posted in the comments section.
Anderson-Emmons also shared a photo from the reunion, as she thanked Ferguson and Bowen for their support. “Faves came to watch my school play<33,” she wrote in the caption.

‘Modern Family’ Cast Has Retained The Love They Have For Each Other Beyond The Show
This reunion isn’t the first time Ferguson has cheered on his TV daughter. He also earlier attended one of her school productions in November last year and praised her talent on social media.
The entire Modern Family cast, with the exception of Ty Burrell, reunited in November 2023. The reunion marked the first time that the entire ensemble had gathered since the show’s finale in April 2020. The reunion was heartwarming, with Sofia Vergara sharing photos on Instagram of the cast spending time together.
Ferguson described the reunion as “nearly perfect” and expressed joy at having the showrunners present. “We even had our two dads Chris Lloyd & Steve Levitan there,” he said.
The cast’s close-knit bond has endured beyond the series finale. The cast also came together during the SAG Awards this year.
Modern Family, which aired for 11 seasons, remains a fan favorite and can be streamed on Hulu and Disney Hotstar Plus.
