As the presidential elections grow closer, celebrities aren’t shying away from taking a dig at the top contenders Donald Trump and Joe Biden, especially after a horrible presidential debate that left the country worried about its future under these leaders. While show hosts, news anchors, and other people in the acting business have already commented upon the situation, joining the list is George Clooney who recently suggested that Donald Trump “get out of politics”.
The actor got a full-fledged op-ed in the New York Times where he contended that Trump is not the best option for America’s future. In response to the article, Trump has lashed out at Clooney, sending some insulting tags his way. Here’s what Trump has said.
Donald Trump Responds To George Clooney’s Dig At Him
Donald Trump lashed out at George Clooney, branding him a “fake movie” actor after Clooney’s op-ed in the New York Times urged him to step aside from the presidential race. In a move that seems at odds with Trump’s campaign strategy, which is geared towards running against Biden, Trump took to Truth Social to vent his frustrations.
“So now fake movie actor George Clooney, who never came close to making a great movie, is getting into the act. He’s turned on Crooked Joe like the rats they both are. What does Clooney know about anything? He uses the Democrat ‘talking point’ that Biden, the WORST President in the history of the United States, has ‘saved our Democracy,’” Trump wrote.
“No, Crooked Joe was the one who WEAPONIZED Law Enforcement against his political Opponent, who created the most devastating INFLATION in the history of our Country, who Embarrassed our Nation in Afghanistan, and whose crazy Open Border Policy has allowed millions of people to illegally pour into our Country, many from prisons and mental institutions,” he added.
“Crooked Joe Biden didn’t save our Democracy, he brought our Democracy to its knees. Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!!!” Trump added.

George Clooney’s Op-Ed Stirs The Political Pot Ahead Of Elections
While the frenzy around presidential elections is at an all-time high, George Clooney’s op-ed has stirred the political pot, reigniting calls for Biden to reconsider his decision to stay in the race. This comes at a time when Biden’s campaign appears to be amid internal party unrest.
Clooney pointed to Biden’s debate performance and his appearance at a star-studded fundraiser on June 15, arguing that the president was fatigued in his conversation with Barack Obama and Jimmy Kimmel as he was just back from a trip to Europe.
Adding another layer to the drama, Politico has claimed that Clooney had informed Obama about the op-ed before it was published. However, the former president neither advised nor objected to Clooney’s move. The stage for a dramatic election is getting set as these arguments and war of words ensue.
