“Never Say Never”: Eugene Levy Hints At Possible Revival Of ‘Schitt’s Creek’

One of the most enduring sitcoms in the history of television came to an end in 2020. ‘Schitt’s Creek’ was that hidden gem that the viewers fortunately found and since poured immense love on the show. The show was characterized by its portrayal of loss, parental relationships, and love without labels and boundaries. Daniel Levy, who played the obnoxiously lovable David created the show along with his reel and real-life father Eugene Levy.

The show signed off with the last glimpse of all the beloved characters like David, Alexis, Moira, Stevie, and others in the documentary ‘Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt’s Creek Farewell’. The cast went ahead with their separate paths creating and featuring in other successful projects. Eugene Levy is also now coming up with a fun show on Apple+ TV titled ‘The Reluctant Traveler’. The actor will visit intriguing places and do some adventurous things around the world. During an interview, he revealed if there is a possibility for a ‘Schitt’s Creek’ revival.

In 2020, ‘Schitt’s Creek’ reigned the Primetime Emmy Awards night by sweeping all the important awards in the comedy category during the night. It won eight awards including an award for ‘Outstanding Comedy Series’. The cast also won awards in the ‘Leading Role in Comedy Series’ categories.

It was a worthy acknowledgment for a show that surpassed the dimensions of the real world breaking the roof to accommodate everything that stands for love and acceptance. The fans have been urging for more seasons of the show. ‘Schitt’s Creek’ went off-air after six seasons.

However, there is a glimmer of hope that the show may make a comeback. The possibilities are not off-limits. Eugene Levy, the co-creator and actor in the show admitted that there is a ‘never say never’ situation during an interview with Radio Times.

He said, “There’s nothing in the works right now, to be honest, but you know, we’ve never stopped thinking about what might happen down the line. We’re certainly open to anything, I think when the idea that is the right idea presents itself we’ll probably act on, I guess”.

‘Schitt’s Creek’ also won an award at the Emmys night for ‘Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series’. It is, without a doubt, some of the stellar performers in the business. It starred the effervescent Catherine O’Hara as a self-absorbed actress Moira Rose.

The ‘American Pie’ actor starred as Johnny Rose, the patriarch of the family who tolerates the quirks of the family. The supporting cast included the ever-funny Chris Elliot as the mayor of the town, Karen Robinson as Ronnie Lee, and others. So, it is a no brainer that Eugene misses these gems of people.

The series also starred his children Daniel Levy as David Rose and Sarah Levy as Twyla, a waitress with an undertone dark personality. In the interview, he said, “I miss the cast. Fortunately, I see my kids, that’s good”.

Levy continued, “It was a great production, mostly everybody was on the show for all six years. It was really just such a delightful show to do. The fact that I’m working with my son and daughter, it was kind of a gift to fatherhood I guess. I thought it was hitting on all cylinders pretty much from the first season right through to our last”.
