Why Did Rihanna Skip Met Gala This Year?
Rihanna’s absence from the Met Gala this year came off as a huge disappointment for many. While the star-studded event was laden with celebrities walking the red carpet dressed in outfits resembling this year’s theme ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,’ the songstress was notably missing. The anticipation about her entrance with another exceptional Met Gala outfit was even higher since she had teased her look ahead of the event during a recent interview.
However, Rihanna had to skip the event this year because of illness. A source told PEOPLE, that the Grammy-winning artist is battling the flu, and has therefore decided to cancel her presence at the event this year.
We’re quite sure it has broken Rihanna’s heart as much as it broke her fans’ hearts since the singer has had a knack for making some remarkable entrances at the event. Her usual fashionably late arrivals with her partner A$AP Rocky have often stolen the spotlight with their rather tardy but memorable looks at the Met Gala in the past years.
