Shailene Woodley told Outside magazine in a recent interview that she would rather not discuss her relationship with the quarterback too much since it “always makes me cry.”
“I haven’t shared much about my relationship with Aaron because it always makes me cry,” the actress said, before adding, “It was not right. But it was beautiful.”

The ‘Big Little Lies’ actress then seemingly referenced to February 2022 when her engagement with Aaron was called off and said, “I had a really awful, traumatic thing happen in early 2022. I felt like I lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy,” she said. “I really understood depression and anxiety and, like, complete soul detachment.”
She then added that she was in a “toxic situation,” because she was empathizing with “someone else.”
How Long Did Shailene Woodley Date Aaron Rodgers?
According to Woodley, the couple first met during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Although rumors of a possible romance initially surfaced in July 2020, the romance was kept private for a while until multiple sources confirmed the relationship. In February 2021, the couple’s engagement was announced, and the couple started openly talking about their relationship.
“It’s kind of funny. Everybody right now is freaking out over [our engagement] and we’re like, ‘Yeah, we’ve been engaged for a while,’” Woodley said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “He’s, first off, just a wonderful, incredible human being. But I never thought I’d be engaged with somebody who threw balls for a living.”
