The Florida Student Continues To Track Taylor Swift’s Aviation Tracks Even After Threats Of Lawsuit
Jack Sweeney is 21 year old student who often makes headlines for tracking down popular celebrities’ flight details. He has previously tracked the routes of Elon Musk, Mark Cuban and faced a mix of threats and bribery to shut down his operations.
As of late, the pop diva Taylor Swift has been on his watch and Sweeney has made her flight details public through X. Taylor Swift’s lawyers have issued a letter to the individual claiming that it was a “life-or-death matter” at times regarding her traveling schedule and route. They asserted that there was “no legitimate interest in or public need for this information, other than to stalk, harass, and exert dominion and control”. Threats of lawsuits have been made to Sweeney from Swift’s legal team.
Jack Sweeney, a self proclaimed appreciator of Taylor’s beats believes that it is “fair” ” to share everyone’s info no matter who it is.” (according to the email he wrote to BBC). He had previously agreed to post about Swift’s aviation location 24 hours after her journey had been taken. Yet in a capricious move the Florida resident is currently live tracking her plane’s whereabouts in a post on X. Almost 6 thousand people had joined him in this stunt.
All this while Sweeney’s lawyers claim that, “The letter was an attempt to bully Jack into doing something that legally he doesn’t have to do,” he said. “Unfortunately folks with power and money often do this…..”He’s (Jack) not doing anything unlawful.” At this point this is blatant invasion of privacy and dehumanisation to a point. Swift’s flight from Tokyo to LA has become the most tracked aircraft in the world. Makes one wonder just how much of this event has been sugarcoated in the glitzy glamour to downplay it.

A Climate Actvist Or Unethical Stalker?
Jack Sweeney is a student in the University Of Central Florida. He is a staunch propagator of transparency and a climate activist as per his declaration. He believes that by revealing high profile people’s flight details he might be able to highlight the humongous amount of CO2 emissions these travels produce. In an interview with Crickey Sweeney talked about the 14 minutes flight taken up by the rapper Drake. He says how the flight would have been a meagre 35 minute drive which eventually ended up “ spewing out some four tonnes of CO2 ”
Yet, one needs to question where the line of reason lies. Sweeney could easily make only such nonsensical flight like the one mentioned public. Celebrities have to travel on a jam packed plan which they don’t even decide. Tracking each movement of a certain individual no matter how much of a public figure borders improper grounds.
