Francis Lawrence Reveals Why He Cast ‘The Euphoria’ Star In The Film
Hunter Schafer is a brilliant performer, and she bowled us with her presence and performance as Rue’s girlfriend in ‘Euphoria’. Now, she stars as Tigris Snow, the advisor and confidant to the young Coriolanus Snow in ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds And Snakes’. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Francis Lawrence talked about why he cast her in the film.
Francis Lawrence said, “She’s one of the more authentic people I’ve ever personally met. So many people came in and read, [but] they were thinking more of Liz Banks’ Effie Trinket than they were of Tigris.”
He continued, “They’re putting on this Capitol effect, and it’s just so phony. Hunter came in and did the scene, and she was so endearing and warm.”
