Eugenio Casnighi Narrates His Ordeal Of Losing His Job Ahead Of The Met Gala
Known for his striking appearance and professional charm, Eugenio Casnighi recently revealed his plight after being fired from his role as a greeter at the Met Gala. The 26-year-old model took to TikTok to share his ordeals stating that now that he’s freed from a nondisclosure agreement after losing his job, he is going to speak up about the injustice done to him.
“I just got fired from the Met Gala,” Casnighi said in the TikTok video, asserting that his termination came just days before the event this year. He claimed that because he went viral last year for inadvertently stealing some of the spotlight from attendee Kylie Jenner, he was fired from his job.

“I’ve been working for the Met Gala as a model and greeter, 2022 and 2023, and I was supposed to do it this year,” Casnighi continued. “It’s Friday and the Met Gala is on Monday and they let me know today that they cut me off, they fired me because I went viral last year,” he said in the video.
Last year, Casnighi was assigned to accompany Kylie Jenner at the Met Gala. Some videos of him and his allure walking beside the reality TV star garnered heavy attention on social media. The focus was diverted from Jenner because of his presence around her. “So basically they said, ‘You made it about yourself so we can’t have you work there anymore,'” Casnighi explained.

Eugenio Casnighi Spills Details Of His Firing From The Met Gala Ahead Of The Event
Though Eugenio Casnighi only revealed a few details about his firing on TikTok, some users in the comments section nudged him to spill more details. In two more subsequent videos that he posted after that, Casnighi also shared screenshots of texts and emails outlining his hiring for the Met Gala.
As per the screenshots, the email included strict instructions against posting any event-related content afterward, even if he appeared in it. The Met Gala organizers have not responded to requests for comments on the matter.
In the third video, the model further spilled some behind-the-scenes details about the famous people he met during the event, including stars like Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively, and Emma Stone. While he noted that all these stars were nice to him, Doja Cat and Bad Bunny found themselves on the not-so-nice list.
