Did you know that Tom Cruise is so popular for his various talents that he even has a cake named after him? Some of his well-known skills include doing his own stunts and being able to pilot planes.
We are talking about Doan’s Bakery in Woodland Hills, California, and their White Chocolate Coconut Bundt Cake here. Tom Cruise is the one who started the tradition of giving these cakes to his employees and friends, like Miles Teller, Angela Bassett, James Corden, Kirsten Dunst, Jimmy Fallon, and Rosie O’Donnell. Tom Cruise Sends Cake To These Celebrity Friends Every Year
According to Jon Hamm, he was on the Tom Cruise Cake List prior to the release of ‘Top Gun: Maverick‘ in May 2022, and he was “quite excited about it.” Miles Teller praised, “The coconut cake is incredibly tasty. Right now, I’m eating one out of the fridge.”
“For the holidays, Tom Cruise will give you a cake,” Jimmy Fallon said in a 2019 interview with Cobie Smulders. “It lasts till like March in my freezer,” said Cobie. “I’m working my way through it piecemeal. It’s a wonderful experience. I have no idea why. I’m not a huge fan of sweets, but this is delicious.”
James Cordon and Angela Bassett heard Tom’s story in 2018 and announced that you’ve definitely made it if you’ve got your name on the list of Tom Cruise Cakes. An amused Angela quipped, “But, only I ate it,” when Tom stated that he had sent one of the desserts to the actress and her husband, Courtney B. Vance.
Kirsten Dunst exclaimed on The Graham Norton Show in 2016, “Every Christmas, he brings me this cake. The Cruise Cake is what we name it. This coconut cake is everything that’s going on. It’s the nicest coconut cake I’ve ever tasted.” Rosie O’Donnell took to Instagram in 2021 to share a picture of the present.
Cruise Is proof That Celebrity Status Can Be Regained
Every year, we see a superhero or franchise film take the top spot at the box office. Marvel and Star Wars flicks usually make up the majority of the list. But in 2022, things are going differently. Many major franchise films have been released this year. It was Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman‘, Chris Pratt’s Jurassic reunion, and more, that delighted people. However, they were all vanquished by Tom Cruise’s performance. The box office was ruled by his ‘Top Gun: Maverick‘ which raked in $1 billion. For the first time in decades, a non-CGI blockbuster has shown that it is possible to dominate the box office without relying on special effects alone.
