After years of saving the universe and starring in big epic movies, Tom Holland has a much simpler wish for his next project with his wife, Zendaya. He wants to make a musical romantic comedy.

The 30-year-old actor is currently traveling the world to promote the upcoming ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ and made this revelation at the film’s Paris photocall. When Vanity Fair asked him what genre he and Zendaya could explore together after appearing in Christopher Nolan‘s ‘The Odyssey‘ and the new Spider-Man movie, Holland did not hesitate. “I think we would do an amazing rom-com together,” Holland said. “That would be really fun. A musical rom-com.

Always the supportive husband, the British star already has an idea of how they would split the work. He suggested his multi-talented wife should take the lead. “She could do the singing and the dancing, and I would do some of the dancing. That would be fun!” he added with a laugh.

This idea comes as the famously private couple are finally stepping back into the spotlight together. They reportedly tied the knot in a secret ceremony and confirmed their marriage earlier this month. After years of keeping their relationship out of the public eye, the ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘ press tour has become a chance for fans to see their chemistry on full display.

Their partnership is built on more than just red carpet appearances. Holland recently shared on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast that having Zendaya as a scene partner is a professional “lifeline.” He talked about a moment on the set of Brand New Day when the couple realized a scene was not working. They spoke up to director Destin Daniel Cretton, who then sent the crew home so they could rewrite the scene overnight. Holland said the result is a sequence that now “sings in the movie.”

I couldn’t imagine doing what I do without her,” Holland told Poehler. He also praised his wife’s fearless approach to acting. He noted that her performance earned a rare “perfect” from the notoriously exacting director Christopher Nolan on the set of ‘The Odyssey‘. Zendaya plays the goddess Athena in the epic, while Holland plays Telemachus. Even though they have no scenes together, Holland still made sure to be on set for her first day of filming just to support her.

The couple’s connection is driving the big promotional machine for their upcoming releases. Zendaya has also spoken about Holland’s portrayal of Spider-Man, praising how he handles the “weight” of the role for young fans with grace. For Holland, the support goes both ways and means a lot to him personally.

Our business can present very stressful situations and it’s really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time,” Holland told Esquire. “I found my person. She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I have ever been when I’m with her, but I also have never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period.”

These comments have made fans love the couple even more. People have watched their relationship grow from co-stars on ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming‘ in 2016. The internet’s favorite “Tomdaya” moments, from playful jokes about pizza to Holland calling Zendaya by her middle name “Maree!” on the red carpet, have only made people want to see them lead a project together even more.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘ hits theaters on July 31, and ‘The Odyssey‘ releases just two weeks before that. It looks like the couple will have a big summer at the box office. For now though, Holland’s dream of a musical rom-com has fans wondering if Hollywood will be smart enough to make it happen.
