Elon Musk is an investor and business magnate who is primarily known for being the CEO of Tesla and Twitter. Musk is also the CEO and founder of SpaceX, co-founder of Neuralink, and founder of The Boring Company. He is the second richest person in the world as of March 2022. Musk is considered to be a controversial figure which was only heightened by his acquisition of Twitter. The entire process of buying Twitter was messy and complicated.
Musk began the process of buying Twitter in April 2022. He initially declined the offer to join the board of directors. He then later accepted the offer and the acquisition of the company was complete by October 2022. The entire process received mixed reactions, mostly because Musk fired all the top executives right after joining and subsequently fired half of the employees in the succeeding months. This really hampered his image in the public and made him polarizing. Now, reports have emerged that the CEO is followed around the company by two bodyguards at all times. Why is that happening and is Elon Musk scared? Read on to find out.

Elon Musk’s Security Detail
A Twitter employee on condition of anonymity revealed that Twitter CEO Elon Musk is followed around the company by two bodyguards. The bodyguards also accompany him to the restroom and aren’t allowed to lose sight of him. According to the engineer, the bodyguards looked like they were straight out of a ‘Hollywood movie’ and were ‘tall’ and ‘bulky’.
While it isn’t uncommon for CEOs and top executives to roam around with bodyguards for protection, it seems that Musk is trying the most for his protection. Many companies have spent millions of dollars to provide security detail and protection for their top executives. The employee claimed he believed Musk’s employment of security inside Twitter’s headquarters in San Francisco indicated a lack of confidence and trust in the staff members of the business. Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk had earlier mentioned how he was concerned for his son’s safety. Errol Musk states his concern even though Elon is under the protection of 100 security guards.

Problems After Elon Musk’s Twitter Acquisition
This report comes on the heels of an alarming security faux pas. In December, Musk’s security team was in the news when Musk claimed a ‘wild stalker’ had jumped on a car transporting his kid in Los Angeles. The suspect in the case, according to the South Pasadena Police Department, is a member of Elon Musk’s security team.
The Twitter headquarters have become increasingly stressful after the takeover by Musk with half of the employees being fired. The remaining employees now have added burden and have to follow baffling schedules just to get the work done. Another unnamed Twitter employee added, “For someone on the inside, it’s like a building where all the pieces are on fire.”
The employee also added, “When you look at it from the outside the facade looks fine, but I can see that nothing is working. All the plumbing is broken, all the faucets, everything.” The problems are not just at the headquarters. The platform Twitter has also faced many more technical glitches recently and the platform is now swarmed with bots and fake accounts. Hateful content on the site has also drastically increased over the last few months.
