‘House Of the Dragons’ fans get ready for some serious action as season two of the HBO series is all set to be released soon. Episode one will be released on 16 June. As Team Black and Team Green get ready to battle it out, meanwhile, fans cannot help but praise the show’s star Matt Smith.
Matt Smith plays the role of Prince Daemon Targaryen. The faithful and dashing husband to Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, Daemon has won the heart of many fans already. Matt Smith went a step ahead to win over some more hearts when he corrected an interviewer over co-star Emma D’Arcy’s pronouns.
Matt Smith Corrects Interviewer Over Emma D’Arcy’s Pronouns
The 41-year-old star is being praised online by netizens. This is because he gently course-corrected a red carpet interview in which a reporter misgendered his co-star Emma D’Arcy. The video has gone viral and fans find it adorable.
At the season 2 premiere in London, Smith talked with reporter Sue Perkins on the red carpet. During the conversation, Perkins mistakenly addressed Emma D’Arcy as she while saying “she gave you all the credit” for the scene. The scene here is the finale scene when Daemon informs Rhaenyra about Lucerys’ death.
Matt Smith gently reminded the interviewer the correct pronouns by saying, “I can’t take the credit, [but] I have to say, aren’t they brilliant?” He continued, “They are absolutely brilliant and you’re in for a real treat with Emma this year, I think Emma’s put in … a really great performance.”

Matt Smith Missed Working With Co-star Emma D’Arcy
The two co-stars have grown very friendly over the period of them filming season one. Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy miss no chances to praise each other. Infact, the ‘Doctor Who’ star admitted to Variety that shooting season 2 was difficult without D’Arcy.
“It was difficult to do it without them because I love them — a person of real depth and sardonic humor and fierce intellect,” Smith said. This is because Smith and D’Arcy’ characters are separated for many episodes in the second season probably since they will be busy preparing for war.
