Danny Masterson had worked with Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher in the 90s when they were starring together in ‘That 70s Show‘. Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years in prison for rape. The couple wrote a letter asking for leniency for the accused actor. However, facing backlash for their actions the couple took to Instagram to apologise.
Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years in prison for raping two women on September 7. The sexual assaults had taken place at his home in the Hollywood Hills from 2001 to 2003. However, the allegations against the actor came to light only in 2017. The victims had testified to the court of the trauma they had to go through over the years.

Mila Kunis And Ashton Kutcher Apologizes For The Letter
The couple Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher apologized for the character letters they had written in support of their former co-star Danny Masterson. “We are aware of the pain that has been caused by the character letters that we wrote on behalf of Danny Masterson,” the couple said in a video message. Kunis added, “We support victims. We have done this historically through our work and will continue to do so in the future.“
The couple beside each other in the video, they had posted on Instagram on September 9. The 47-year-old worked with Kutcher and his wife in ‘That ’70s Show‘ from 1998 to 2006. “Our heart goes out to every single person who’s ever been a victim of sexual assault, sexual abuse or rape,” the couple said at the end of their video message.

Mila Kunis And Ashton Kutcher‘s Letters Not To Question Jury’s Ruling
In Ashton Kutcher’s letter, he described Danny Masterson as a “role model”. However, the couple in the video explained with what understanding they had written the letters.
“A couple of months ago, Danny’s family reached out to us and they asked us to write character letters to represent the person that we knew for 25 years so that the judge could take that into full consideration relative to the sentencing,” Kutcher said. Kunis added that the letter was in no way “written to question the legitimacy of the judicial system, or the validity of the jury’s ruling“. In addition, the duo explained how it was not meant to undermine the victims’ testimony or traumatize them.
The couple had repeatedly apologized for their action and emphasized standing with the victims. Over 50 individuals had written character letters to the Los Angeles Superior Court Judge for the actor.
