    Elon Musk is one of the most talked about billionaires in recent memory. The SpaceX founder was, for a while, in the news for his Twitter deal and its aftermath. He is known for his strange and often controversial opinions which he expresses on the micro-blogging site.

    Elon Musk has been deemed one of the most talked about billionaires. His ideas on technology, sustainable energy, and colonizing mars make him stand out from other rich folks.

    Born in Pretoria, Transvaal, South Africa, Musk attended Waterkloof House Preparatory School and Bryanston High School. He did his graduation from Pretoria Boys High School. Later, he applied for a Canadian passport and attended the University of Pretoria for five months while his application was under process.

    In 1990, Musk went to Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and transferred to the University of Pennsylvania two years later. In 1997, he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in physics and a Science degree in economics from Wharton School.

    Musk Was Accepted To A Ph.D. Program

    Before completing his degree, Musk did two internships in Silicon Valley. One was at the energy storage startup Pinnacle Research and the other one was with the video game company Rocket Science Games.

    At Stanford University, he was accepted to a Ph.D. program in materials science. However, sensing the internet boom, Musk left the program two days after joining. He then applied to Netscape.

    In 1995, he started Zip2, an internet startup, with his brother Kimbal and Greg Kouri. It kickstarted his career and the rest is history. Suffice it to say that Musk had received strong education before venturing into business.
