What Is The Andrew Tate And True Geordie Islamophobia Controversy?

Andrew Tate gained global recognition when he got banned from all social media sites for his controversial comments and views. The 35-year-old internet personality had some really misogynistic and violent beliefs, which he boldly and quite openly advocated on his social media pages, which had a huge fan following. Following his violent remarks, all social media apps like TikTok and Instagram suspended his account and banned him from making any new ones. His ideas and opinions were posed as a grave threat since they could have easily influenced young minds.

After the whole fiasco, the next thing which comes up is a shocking transition to witness. Tate announced that he’s converted to Islam! The controversial figure stated that Islam is “the last true religion on the planet.” Since then, it has been a major topic of debate and discussion. Amidst this also surged the Andrew Tate and YouTuber True Geordie islamophobia controversy. Here’s what happened.

A while earlier, True Geordie had said that if given the opportunity, he’d absolutely love to punch Andrew Tate in the face. No wonder, a supposed rumor about the two getting into a boxing match swirled up. Tate, too, claimed that he’d fight True Geordie, whose real name is Brian Davis. The back-and-forth obviously added to the tension until True made islamophobic comments against him, to which Tate replied quite harshly.

A fan asked True if he’d take on Tate in a ring. True replied with a laugh that he doesn’t have a chance of beating him since “God is on his side” which was an apparent remark towards Tate’s recent conversion to Islam. A more controversial comment followed this when he said Tate should “blow himself up” as proof of his devotion to Islam.

Tate gave a full-fledged reply to Geordie’s comments, which, for the most part of it, are quite ironic coming from him. He said, “There are very few people I personally dislike, one of them is True Geordie. He’s very insulting, fat, vulgar, he’s a d**khead, and an unlikeable person. He’s not very smart, he’s stupid. Now after me converting to Islam, he made a piece on one of his podcasts saying I’m not true in my conversion, and then insulted all Muslims. Making f**king racist comments about an entire religion as if that’s somehow funny.”

He added, “Let me tell you something my friend, and True Geordie if you are watching this, this is a message directly to you. There are certain times in life when you need to know when to shut the f**k up.” He also added, “But to insult my religion, and the religion of billions of people across the f**king planet, making ignorant jokes about blowing ourselves up, thinking it’s gonna go without consequence, you’re gonna learn very quickly my friend that was a mistake.”

This isn’t where it ended, no. True then made a 20-minute-long apology video which he posted on his YouTube channel. In the video, Geordie said, “I made a joke in questioning that ‘newfound faith’ of his, that conveniently comes at a time when he needs as many supporters as he can get. It was a stupid joke.

He further added, “When I say that out loud, when I’m aware of it, f**king horrendous. It was one of those off-the-cuff remarks I made with a total lack of thought, and I used an unrealistic stereotype to take aim at someone who seriously dislikes me. Obviously I don’t believe that’s what Muslims actually do… It was a very stupid thing to say. It was an idiotic joke – one I’m sorry for.”
