The Ed Sheeran Effect
The 31-year-old singer is easily one of the most influential artists of his generation. Spotify, the audio streaming service, named him the second most streamed artist of the decade.
But that’s not the limit of Ed’s influence. His ginger hair is apparently helping a lot of men have a lot of sex. Yes, and the effect is called the Ed Sheeran Effect.
According to NME, a poll was commissioned by Casumo with 175 redheaded males between the ages of 25 to 34. They were asked questions about their sex lives. The poll results found that 20 percent of the participants had received “more attention” since Ed became a global star.
The conclusion was that ginger men were feeling more confident because of ‘Castle on the Hill‘ singer’s popularity.

Another Study Also Proved Sheeran’s Influence On ‘Ginger Guys’
A recent study conducted by OnePoll.com asked one thousand women and 175 red-headed men some questions about hair color.
Over a third of the women had a more favorable opinion of red-headed men in light of Sheeran’s popularity. Most of the men admitted feeling confident about their ginger hair color.
These women were later asked to rank their favorite redhead celebrities. Prince Harry was at the top spot, followed by Scottish actor Ewan McGregor, Damian Lewis, Sheeran, and Eddie Redmayne.
In the past, Ed has been asked about his hair color. He once said, “Being ginger can seem like a bad thing when you are young, but as a musician it has been my saving grace, because if you see a ginger kid on TV and there is only one messy-haired ginger kid who plays guitar, it is very easy to find them on Youtube.”
He also talked about his so-called ‘effect’: “There are a lot of ginger dudes in England who are using me. That’s why I’m not hating on it. You know what, we’re finally getting laid! This is a good thing.”
