However, just over two days ago, Pompeo gave the announcement of her leaving the show. After 19 seasons, the actor is finally taking her leave from the role of Meredith Grey.

How Did Patrick Dempsey React To Ellen Pompeo Leaving The Show?
Dr. Sheppard AKA Patrick Dempsey apparently reacted funnily about Dr. Meredith Grey’s leave from ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. In an episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, host Kimmel joked with Dempsey saying “She’s leaving the show. I don’t know if you heard, she got caught stealing band-aids from the set.”
Dempsey had some funny thoughts regarding Ellen Pompeo’s recent announcement about her exit from the show. Replying to Kimmel he said, “Did she really? Finally, they caught her. Can you imagine what she’d have in her house now from 19 seasons? A full hospital.” Dempsey played the role of Dr. Derek Sheppard until the 12th season, before taking his leave.

Why Did Ellen Pompeo Leave ‘Grey’s Anatomy’?
This Thursday, Pompeo seemingly announced that she was taking her exit from ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ after being a part of it for 19 seasons. Pompeo’s news to the fans was given just a week after this season’s finale. This fall finale hence also marked her last official episode as Dr. Grey, as mentioned in Global News.
Pompeo gave the announcement on her Instagram page with the caption, “I am eternally grateful and humbled by the love and support you have all shown me, Meredith GREY and the show for 19 seasons!… This isn’t your first time on the rollercoaster… you know the show must go on and I’ll definitely be back to visit”.
